About the Mental Well - Being of Adolescents Project
Project Description:
The aim of this project is for students to create New Year's cards that contain messages about mental health, as well as to exchange these cards with partners from other countries. In addition to the physical or digital creation of greetings, students will record video messages sharing their thoughts and feelings about working on this project.
Steps for Project Implementation:
- Introductory Workshop:
- Organize a workshop on the topic of mental health, where you will discuss its significance, how to nurture it, and what messages about mental health may be beneficial.
- Use tools such as Google Slides or Canva to create a presentation that will inspire students to come up with creative messages.
- Creating the Cards:
- Students can use different tools for creating the cards:
- Canva: An online design tool that enables easy and creative work.
- Paper: Traditional card making with paper, colors, and other artistic materials.
- Adobe Spark: A tool for creating visually appealing digital content.
- Each card should contain mental health messages that students will design and research themselves.
- Choosing Partner Schools:
- Students select one partner from another country with whom they will exchange cards. This part of the activity can be organized through the eTwinning platform, as well as a shared Google document where students write their names and school in the first column and the name of the student they wish to receive a card from in the second column. The exchange will be conducted through the school's address to ensure the privacy of the students.

- Creating Video Messages:
- After creating the cards, students will record short video messages (e.g., 1-2 minutes) in which they share their feelings and thoughts about mental health and the process of making the cards.
- Tools for recording and editing videos:
- Flipgrid: A platform that allows recording short videos, which can be used for easy sharing.
- WeVideo: An online video editing tool.
- YouTube: A platform for sharing finished video content.
- Discussion and Reflection:
- After completing the project, students should participate in a forum on a platform (you can suggest which one to use) where they will share their experiences and discuss what they learned from the workshops and working on the cards.
- Publication and Promotion:
- Organize a virtual exhibition of the cards, and share them on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) using hashtags such as #MentalHealthGreetings, #NewYear2024 to reach a broader audience.
- Record and publish the final videos on the school's YouTube channel or the eTwinning platform.
Final Products:
- Digital and physical New Year's cards with messages about mental health.
- Video recordings with messages and reflections from the students.
- Activities on the forum and feedback on the experience of working on the project.
- Documentation of the work process (which may include photographs, sketches of cards, recordings from workshops).
Conclusion:
This project activity not only promotes student creativity but also raises awareness about the importance of mental health during the holiday season. By connecting with peers from other countries, students develop their communication skills and global awareness, while also fostering empathy and understanding of the importance of mental health.
